Marangu Waterfalls Day Trip

Itinerary:

Departure: Start your day early in the morning from your accommodation in the Moshi area.

Travel to Marangu: Begin your journey towards Marangu, a picturesque village located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, approximately 1-2 hours away from Moshi depending on the mode of transportation.

Marangu Waterfalls: Upon arrival in Marangu, head directly to the beautiful Marangu Waterfalls. Take a guided hike through lush greenery and scenic landscapes to reach the waterfalls. Spend time enjoying the natural beauty of the falls, take photos, and perhaps even take a refreshing dip in the pool below (if allowed and safe).

Picnic Lunch: After exploring the waterfalls, enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the serene surroundings of Marangu. You can either bring your own packed lunch or arrange for a local meal to be prepared for you by your tour operator.

Visit to Chagga Tribe: After lunch, continue your journey to visit a local Chagga tribe community. The Chagga people are one of the largest ethnic groups in Tanzania and are known for their rich culture, traditions, and hospitality. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by members of the community and given a warm welcome.

Cultural Interaction: Spend the afternoon engaging in various cultural activities with the Chagga tribe members. This may include traditional dance performances, learning about their farming practices (such as coffee and banana cultivation), participating in craft-making demonstrations, and enjoying traditional Chagga cuisine.

Guided Tour: Take a guided tour of the Chagga village to learn about their way of life, traditional housing structures, and social customs. Your guide will provide insightful commentary and facilitate meaningful interactions with the locals, offering you a deeper understanding of Chagga culture and traditions.

Return to Moshi: As the day comes to an end, bid farewell to the Chagga tribe and begin your journey back to Moshi.
